A Little Bit of Funky Disco

So I have been going through literally thousands of songs, trimming my library down (which consists mostly of progressive, minimal, club) and after about 2 weeks straight of it, my ears got tired. A friend recommended the Armand van Helden remix of ADD SUV, and the disco funk that shook my body gave me a new direction. I started snagging as much of it as i could and really got to hear some fantastic new sounds and artists that I would otherwise not have listened to. Armand (and his duck sauce mate A-Trak) really changed my outlook on the music I was picking, so I wanted to put together something that represented this change.

This was actually my second go on this track selection, this time with the inclusion of the Tommie Sunshine and Figure – Ec$tacy edit of “I think I like it.” I think I was on the toilet when I listened to that track, so I had to stand and pull my pants back up just so I could crap them. Overall, I believe I picked some decent tracks… sure as hell makes my ass shake. Might have came on too strong with the beginning of the set and let it wind down a little too quick, but such is life. This mix really opened my eyes the most since I’ve started playing.
